Introducing the Laboratory<\/h5><\/div>

The Laboratory of Didactics of Science, Mathematics and ICT (Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education, University of Patras) is engaged in research on the teaching and learning of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science and ICT, from preschool to higher education.<\/p>\n

The Laboratory consists of scientists specialized in the Didactics of Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and ICT, as well as scientists specialized in Philosophy, Psychology and Pedagogy, which are areas of key importance for its research activity.<\/p>\n

The Laboratory\u2019s commitment to high-quality research and education is ongoing. Its members produce significant research work, provide mentorship to doctoral students within an environment of meaningful apprenticeship in research, and contribute to the Department\u2019s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum by teaching relevant courses.<\/p>\n

Since 2007, the Laboratory has been publishing the scientific journal ReSMICTE<\/a> (Review of Science, Mathematics and ICT Education), which draws scholars from the international scientific community. The Laboratory has repeatedly been involved in the professional development of teachers who work at various educational levels, serving as a training center for using new technologies and implementing the inquiry-based model of teaching and learning Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Professor K. Ravanis, Professor Emerita V. Zogza, and Professors Emeriti D. Koliopoulos and K. Zacharos have served as Directors of the Laboratory. As of April 2023, this role has been taken over by Professor M. Ergazaki.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
